We've been going to the farmer's market and now that one has opened in Woodstock we can walk there. The best part: no feeding the downtown parking meters. The worst part (for Ted): no feeding the meters. That boy likes his meters. Is that a boy thing or a Ted thing (or a Monk thing?) I love this time of year - all the strawberries we can eat. I even made freezer jam today.
I've been reading a lot of blogs, mostly cooking and scrapbooking. I can't remember the last time I picked up a book, despite the pile right next to me, borrowed from the library a month ago. I have all the Independence Day decorations up but have yet to paint out the brachiosaurus on my living room wall. Really need to get me some chalkboard paint. Maybe tomorrow.
I leave for Delaware in two weeks! Five whole days without (my) children. There will be children, but they will not be my problem - yay! Five days of girl time, movies, spas, crab cakes, shopping and cuddling a 3 mo. old baby. Of course, it also means two days of traveling cross-country and a stay in the sweltering humidity of the mid-Atlantic. I fully expect the weather to kill me. Or at the least turn me into a limp, sweaty pile of whininess. Must remember to pack shorts.
Time to shuffle the monkeys off to bed. G'nite!
